Fan Focus. Your new chairman and board.

Welcome back Indy Reds! We’ve got a special post and fan focus up for you today. As most of you know I(Nile) made the decision to step down as chairman of the Official Liverpool Supporters Club of Indianapolis. Well we are here today to announce that Trey Higdon will be your new Chairman of LFC Indy. Helping him and you out and rounding out the board will be Bryan Smith as the Vice Chairman and Boback Lotfalian. The board will stay this way till the end of the season then it potentially will be expanded. I have complete faith in these 3 to take LFC Indy onward and to the next level. Trey has a good background in PR and photo/video skills which I think will be great for the Supporters Club.  He is young and passionate about LFC. I look forward to watching him take on this task.
So in honor of your new chairman here is an Indy Red Fan Focus.

How did you pick Liverpool as your team?
I can actually thank my brother, Kyle, for this. He has been a huge Liverpool supporter since his high school days. While I may not have been as exposed to it when I was younger, his persistence to getting me to get back into soccer has brought me where I am today. In addition to that, I would have to say the camaraderie and spirit the team and the fans exude is awe-inspiring. It’s the sense of brotherhood and togetherness I feel when I’m sitting at UJ’s or at home watching a match that makes me proud to say that LFC is my team.

First LFC memory?
My first and my favorite memory can be answered together. In 2012, I had the privilege to see LFC take on Tottenham in Baltimore. Probably one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It is extremely satisfying to say I was able to see Carragher and Gerrard play with a Liverbird upon their chests. It was also nice to see Sterling play before he became a total prat. The attendance at the match that day was 42,723, but it was like walking into a sea of red with all of the LFC supporters lining the stadium.stands
Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match?
Like most fans that I’ve seen, I make sure to wear my jersey and kiss the crest.

Where were you during Istanbul?
Sadly, I wasn’t into soccer a whole lot at this point in time, so most likely I was at work. Although, I have seen the match since then.

Favorite Current Player and Why?
Tough choice, but I would say either Sakho or Rossiter. Both players are skilled beyond belief, have great attitudes and have enough energy that would rival the Kop with a full house.
halloween

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why?
Easy, Daniel Agger. Apparent skills aside, Agger is the true definition of loyalty when it comes to players who have worn an LFC kit.

Favorite LFC kit ever?
While others may disagree, I’m quite partial to the 14/15 Third kit (black and gray striped with red and black stripes going across the body).

You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do?
Well, if time travel existed, I would travel back and slap Rodgers on two separate occasions: Letting Suarez and Gerrard go. I suppose in the realm of “reality” without time travel, I would make my primary focus less on transfers for the day and put my effort towards solidifying a permanent position for Klopp.

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info?
This Is Anfield, Mirror UK, Metro (Rebecca Perry).flaggates

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area?
No other place than Indy’s Anfield, Union Jack’s.

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play?
Rossiter. The kid has spirit and passion not only for the sport, but for LFC. Very Gerrard like in most of his views towards being an LFC player. It’s always refreshing to see him beaming ear-to-ear, win or lose, after getting to play.

Favorite LFC Goal?
While it was far from the best game (and not the best way to send off a legend), I’m going to have to say Gerrard’s final goal for LFC. We may have lost 5-1, but that one point signified the end of an era in LFC and EPL history. Being able to bear witness, even on a TV screen, to a momentous event such as that is very humbling.

Have you ever seen LFC play in person?
I have! In Baltimore. Sadly, I had to miss the Chicago game. I look forward to seeing them play in the states again (not to mention the possible trip to Anfield in the future).

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have?
I’m a huge supporter of Indy Eleven. Many of you may have seen my photo coverage for Press Row Sports on their site or my blogs (though shameless self-promotions). I’m also a Pacers fan. As far as hobbies go, I’m an avid disc golfer, musician and photographer/videographer. I plan on making photos and videos a more integral part of LFC Indy’s social media presence.

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match?
So many to choose from! Such a difficult question and I hate to limit myself, but I’m going to say either a Sun King Osiris or Tow Yard Horse Power (but I’ll drink any decent IPA).

What makes you most proud to support LFC?
Like I said above, the camaraderie. More often than not, I’ll wear one of my jerseys while I’m out and I’ll be guaranteed to have someone shout “You’ll Never Walk Alone” or have a very enthusiastic exchange about the most recent/upcoming match. Last time I wore my Gerrard jersey to a Pacers game, I had an entire row shout “YNWA” repetitively and cheer as I walked down the stairs.

Best thing about being an Indy Red?
The best part about being an Indy Red is being able to go to a common meeting place and have it feel like a home away from home. The first time I attended a game at UJ’s, I was welcomed with open arms and I am now proud to say my fellow Reds are like family to me. I am excited to move forward as chairman, in hopes that I can strive to provide the same experiences for all newcomers to the SC. Even if I provide that feeling towards one new face in our very own sea of red, I have successfully done my job.

Thank you Trey!!

Once again a giant thank you to all of the Indy Reds and some folks from the other supporters clubs who have helped us to grow and be where we are at today. It was a great 2 1/2yr run for me. I look forward to taking in the matches as a fan and being one of the Indy Reds.

Saturday 12:30pm Kickoff LFC take on City away at the Etihad. Be sure to get out to Union Jack Pub for the match. It will be packed in there. Another large match we here is happening in Spain, good news is UJ’s plans to put everyone watching El Classico and normal people eating lunch over on the Restaurant side. All of the Indy Reds(and the few city “fans” will be on the bar side) Make sure though to get there early to get those seats and tables snatched up.

Look forward to seeing everyone Saturday.

Welcome Back, National Celebs, Fan Focus

Welcome back Indy Reds!! Apologies for the long delay in-between posts. Starting now we look to correct that and give you fine folks some more content more regularly. Since we would like to expand the site and update it more often, if you are a writer or enjoy it and would like to write any articles such as pre or post match previews/reviews or player profiles or even last year we had a few Red Tardis articles that were fun. Anything LFC related feel free to email us or get at us on social media and we will get it going.
You may have noticed a couple changes, the biggest one being we bought the domain name for our website LFCIndy.com, so it is much easier to remember and get to and share.

Before we splash back in with our favorite kind of post the Indy Red Fan Focus we had a something very unexpected happening. If you haven’t heard or seen yet, we were featured on NBC Sports live broadcast here in the USA during halftime of the LFC v Arsenal match.

THAT JUST HAPPENED!!!! Yes that was you the Official Liverpool Supporters Club of Indianapolis. The Indy Reds live on NBC with the sweet sweet narrating from the one and only Rebecca Lowe. MASSIVE exposure for the supporters club and also for our Indy Anfield Union Jack Pub.
We are posting this 2 days after and We still get a giant smile on our faces and we’re still in amazement that this happened. A big thank you to all of the Indy Reds who over the last 2 years have helped to grow and shape our Supporters Club. Well Done!

Alright, we are bringing back one of mine and I think most of you folks favorite part of our site the Indy Red Fan Focus. If you are new to us you can see all of the previous features here on our site.
Basically it is pretty simple, I ask you a bunch of questions and you answer them then we feature you on our site so our Indy Reds can get to know each other better and how they came to love the greatest team in the world. First up for the new season is one of the MANY as I’m finding out “ExPats” here in Indy. Daniel.
Enjoy!!

How did you pick Liverpool as your team?
They were one of the first teams I completed in the old Pannini soccer sticker albums back in the late 80’s in the UK and a certain John Barnes was mesmerizing to watch as a 7 year old boy so I chose the Reds and have never regretted it.

First LFC memory?
Probably when we beat Palace 9-0 back in the late 80’s. In the UK they are not allowed to show the games live on a Saturday for a 3pm kickoff. I remember being sat in my parent’s car whilst they were grocery shopping with my brother listening to the live First Division games (as it was back then pre-premier league). We just kept guessing how many more goals would come after six and how the commentators would be utterly amazed with each and every goal. I still remember the papers the next day with a big shot of Peter Beardsley. Being so young I did not appreciate the feat at the time.
9-0

Favorite LFC memory?
Istanbul – nothing comes close. The way we got there, the way we came back from the dead, once in a lifetime stuff. It will take something very special to top it.

Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match?
When I went to Anfield on the drive up I would always play my ‘This Is Anfield’ CD to get a good sing song going. Apart from that the usual advice you give to the players while you watch the TV (like they can actually hear you!).

Where were you during Istanbul?
At my mother’s house as she had the biggest TV to watch it on!

Favorite Current Player and Why?
If you would’ve asked me this a few months ago I would’ve said Steven Gerrard. Now he’s gone my favorite is Emre Can. He’s versatile and tenacious and can beat a man when he needs too. He reminds me a lot of Mascherano but with more goals in him.

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why?For me and my generation it would have to be Steven Gerrard. He’s a great role model and a down to earth person. It would be great to see how he is away from football and how he dealt with all of the pressure of being such an icon for so many people for so many years. Plus we both moved to America from the UK around the same time, so we have something in common – although he can buy the beers as he earns more than me!

Favorite LFC kit ever?
For personal reasons the grey away kit for the 2008/09 season. My Grandmother got me my first kit, which was the grey ‘Candy’ shirt for the 1988/89 season as a birthday present twenty years earlier, so it struck a chord with me when the club based it on that shirt.
2008GRAY
You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do?
I would like to have a kick about with all my mates on the hallowed turf of Anfield and book a pre-season game here in Indianapolis vs the Indy Eleven!

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info?
Always the clubs official site and the BBC football website. Occasionally twitter for the gossip.

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area?
I would probably drive around the city with my scarf out of the car or scream out loud in the front yard for a few hours first before I went out! Of course it would be at the Union Jack with fellow supporters as no-one else would know why I am so happy!

dan

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play?
Jordan Rossiter. Jamie Carragher was talking him up a few years ago so I took an interest in him and I am glad he has progressed as far as he has done. Liverpool needs a local lad in the team and Jordan has great composure and seems unfazed by being in the first team squad. Hopefully he gets some game time this season so he can show what he can do and push on from there.

Favorite LFC Goal?
So many to choose from, a difficult question! It has to be Gerrard’s pile driver against Olympiacos. Without that goal there would’ve been no Istanbul, no 5th European cup – enough said.

Have you ever seen LFC play in person?
Plenty of times! I have done the full house of Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Cup, Europa League and even the Community Sheild. I lived in Reading in the UK which is just outside London and only a 4 hour drive away from Liverpool. So as soon as I was old enough to drive that was it. I even was lucky enough to see the Reds at the Millennium Stadium. When Reading were promoted to the Premier league that also helped me out with going to an away game!
danshanks

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have?
Apart from soccer I like rugby and I used to do a lot of running which I am keen to get back into. I like to give most sports a go to be honest so I will probably give all of the big American sports a try.

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match?
I am still new to the area so am a baby in the beer tasting stakes. I enjoy a Sam Adams and I know that’s a Boston thing (sorry). I am still waiting to be educated!
What makes you most proud to support LFC?
The history and the passion of the club and the family feel it has. I don’t think any other club can match us for it. No matter who plays for Liverpool, if they give 100% for the shirt they will be supported and remembered by the supporters for their efforts.

Best thing about being an Indy Red?
For me being new to the USA and a ‘limey’ I would have to say the enthusiasm of the group. When I went down to the Union Jack for a game recently I found the people there very friendly and welcoming. I have to give a special mention to Nile as I bombarded him with lots of questions when I found out I was moving to the area and he has been very supportive.

Thank you Daniel! It is always great to see the perspective from someone not from the USA. If you enjoyed this feature be sure to go back on the site and read the other Fan Focus that we’ve had all of them are top notch. If you’d be interested in being featured let us know and we will get you up there. We have some really good ones on the horizon this year.

Alright on to some Supporters Club and Team news.

The Scarves were a huge hit, we are completely SOLD OUT. I believe Union Jack is also sold out of the scarves and also the t-shirts we had last year. If we have enough interest we might do another pre-order of scarves. As a heads up we have to order a minimum of 50 scarves & its $500. Our chairman and board don’t have that kinda dough laying around so we would have to do a pre-order. If we can get 25 people to pre-order scarves again we will order more.
We are in the process of working with Union Jack to see about a new t-shirt for this year since we had to retire the old logo.

Need some input from you Indy Reds too, As we are going into our 3rd season/2nd year in existence & 1st overall year as Official we would really like to start trying to give back to the Indy community. If anyone has any ideas on how we can do that let us know. We are thinking of possibly doing a food drive for someone like Second Helpings here in the city during one of big matches this fall, or maybe a coat drive for the winter time.
As always if you ever have any suggestions or questions about the Supporters Club feel free to email us LFCIndy7@gmail.com or comment on any of the posts on here or facebook/twitter.
Speaking of Facebook and Twitter. Be sure you are following us on Twitter @LFCIndy and like our page on Facebook and also join our Facebook Group. The group page allows you guys to post things and it is a good place to talk about all things LFC.
Last bit of club news, if you’re active on Twitter and like to post things about LFC, be sure to hit up our friends at the ULF Podcast(you can find them on twitter and Facebook) they are looking for someone to post LFC news and updates for them on their Twitter page.

Some quick team news.
Troubled striker Mario Balotelli has gone out on loan back to AC Milan
Young gun Harry Wilson(youngest person to ever appear for Wales) has gone on loan to Crewe Alexandra
Daniel Sturridge is back in England after rehabbing in Boston for quite a while, look for him to try and get fit for the united match 09/12.

Look forward to seeing everyone out at Union Jack Pub Saturday for the match v West Ham. 10:00am Kickoff. LFCWESTHAM
We had an amazing crowd for the opening match v Stoke, then had some Monday games where we expect crowds to be thinner but still had a heck of a showing. Saturday “Pack The Jack”

Thank you everyone for your continued support and helping to grow and build the supporters club and spreading the love of LFC all over our fine city.

How did you pick Liverpool as your team?
I first started watching soccer in 1994 when the US hosted the World Cup. I had always tried to support our professional soccer leagues first and foremost. I started getting interested in the Premier League in the late 90’s, and started cheering for Americans playing there. Once Clint Dempsey (my favorite American player) was ran out of Tottenham, I decided it would be best if I picked one BPL team and stick with them. Liverpool’s fan support and passion is what convinced me immediately that I could relate to this club.

First LFC memory?
My first official memory as a fully committed supporter was Gerrard imitating his kissing the camera after he scored the PK against Man U.

Favorite LFC memory?
Definitely being able to sing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ in front of the team in Chicago when they played Olympiakos this past July

Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match?
I always have to wear my scarf. I also feel our chances for winning increase if I am wearing my home jersey when they’re at home, my away jersey when they’re away, and my third jersey when they wear that.

mscarf

Where were you during Istanbul?
Unfortunately, I wasn’t fully committed to LFC then, but I remember it being absolutely insane when I heard what happened and saw the highlights.

Favorite Current Player and Why?
Stevie G of course. I love his passion and how Liverpool is his life. I definitely see the same passion in Lucas, and he is a close second. Hopefully we keep him around longer.

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why?
I am going to go in a different direction and choose Balotelli. Honestly, I think he gets singled out a lot for things that isn’t his doing. And I think the media loves to pick on him just to try to embellish their point on how he is a cancer to the team. I would want to meet and have dinner with him just so I can truly see for myself if he really is as bad as people really say. And to see if he does have that passion for LFC that every player should have.

Favorite LFC kit ever?
When I think of Liverpool kits, 2 things come to mind immediately: Red and Carlsberg. And since I love the Adidas trefoil and think that is a classic look, it is easy to say the jersey that puts all three of those things together is my favorite kit. The 2006-2007 home kit.

You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do?
Make one day completely free for people to have access to the stadium and its players. Give the people a chance that can’t afford seeing their favorite team an opportunity. Give them access to the training grounds, the locker rooms, the field, the game if there is one that day. All access pass to those that cannot afford it.

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info?
Twitter definitely. I follow a ton of LFC pages

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area? Where the Indy Reds are!!! UNION JACK!

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play?
I saw promise in Markovic in Chicago, and I am happy to see he is starting to blossom now. I think he is a great signing with great talent.

Favorite LFC Goal?
The goal I saw in person directly in front of where I was seeing: Raheem Sterling’s goal in Chicago against Olympiakos

Have you ever seen LFC play in person?
July 27, 2014 in Chicago! I am planning my Anfield trip hopefully next season
mikechi

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have?
Baseball, Football, College Basketball. Also enjoy discovering new music, and planning my next vacation to explore a new country and to see what this world has to offer!

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match?
Huge fan of Sun King, and their IPA’s. So whatever IPA of theirs is in season.

What makes you most proud to support LFC?
The passion of the fans. Without a doubt. Win or lose, the fans always stand behind their team.

Best thing about being an Indy Red?
Being able to interact with people that I know have the same passion for the sport as I do! Love seeing soccer become more and more popular after loving it all of these years. The absolute best thing though is the people I have been able to interact with on Twitter and can think of them as my friends. Being in the military, Twitter is how I can be a part of the OLSC Indy, and I am looking forward to being able to have a beer with my fellow Indy Reds at Union Jacks!

Thanks Mike. As he briefly mentioned Mike is in the military and is actually stationed out in the Dakotas. Look forward to him making it back to Indy to cheer on LFC with his fellow Indy Reds.

Alright in case you didn’t see it or you want to read it again, here was the email that went out last night to you Indy Reds whose email we have:

Hi there Indy Reds! I apologize in advance this will be a longer email than normal.

As you may have gathered from the subject line it is T-SHIRT TIME! Union Jack has finalized their design and pricing with their printers and we are ready to get pre-orders underway!
 Inline image 1
The design above is what the shirt will look like. It had the most overall votes.
Shirts will be $15 if you pre order it between now and next weekend 1/25. Once the pre-sale ends you will only be able to get the shirts at Union Jack after they are ordered and they will be $20 at the bar.
It is $15 when you pre-order no matter what size you get and also the same cost if you get a men’s or women’s size.
There is going to be 2 ways to get your pre-order and money in. You can either give me(Nile) cash at Union Jack on match day either this weekend Saturday 01/17 10am kickoff v Villa or Tuesday 01/20 2:45pm kickoff v Chelsea and finally Saturday 01/24 12:30pm kickoff v Bolton.
The other way to pay is we have a Paypal account set up. Link is below. You can click on that and order a shirt. If you want multiple shirts you have to do it multiple times(sorry) and when you order you need to put in the “special notes” the size you would like. If I don’t see a size I will email you but you’ll make our life easier if you put it in the notes.

If you plan on ordering through Paypal please do so as soon as possible. Once the order is placed the money doesn’t show up for 7 days for us to transfer to UJ’s to get the shirts so it delays it some.
Once the shirts come in they will ONLY be available to PICK UP at Union Jack(another great reason to come out to a match) we will not be shipping shirts out to people in the Indy area(some exceptions may be made if the person ordering is out of state/out of country)
So that was the good news. Now some possible not so good news. If you like the LFC Indy logo & you want to show it off I HIGHLY SUGGEST you get one of these shirts. As you may know LFC is reviewing and adjusting their trademarks and branding(hence why we don’t have scarves yet) because of this it is looking like all the Supporters Clubs will have to submit their logos to LFC for approval. Word through the grapevine is that LFC is really putting the clamps on things and it is a possibility that our logo will not be accepted and have to be modified. Thankfully we have some great artistic people that are Indy Reds, so if it does come to that finding an approved logo will be no big deal. SO if you like the logo get a shirt because it might possibly be the only item in our short existence that will have it on any apparel, plus how cool is it you get to rep the best Soccer Pub in Indy along with the best Supporters Club!

Alright everyone excited?! We’ve had some Paypal pre-orders rolling in today. If you will be at one of the next few matches you will see me(Nile) in my usual spot on the upper landing by the Window. You can pre-order and pay in cash in person during matchday with me.

In other news
If you haven’t seen yet;5 Times Company who specializes in former LFC player appearances are making the rounds in the USA this summer. Sorry they won’t be coming to Indy(trust me it is expensive and something to plan for down the road) They will be in Chicago on June 26th. It will be Robbie Fowler and Didi Hamann. Will be a pretty large venue most likely. $50 a ticket for show or $120 for a meet and greet. http://5times.co/chicago/

In team news:
Lallana has made a speedy recover and could make the bench this weekend for the match. If he doesn’t he is for sure with the team v Chelsea next week.
Daniel Sturridge is back in training which is a great sight to see. Will be amazing to see him back in the lineup and out there running wild soon.
Raheem Sterling is back from his holiday in Jamaica and back with the team.

Alright keep those pre-orders coming. Look forward to seeing all of you Indy Reds at the match tomorrow 10am Kickoff v Villa. Be sure to get there early because QPR v mancs is on at 10am too, so expect a crowded Union Jack.

Fan Focus. Don’t go Hibernating.

Welcome back Indy Reds. Another Edition of our Fan Focus today to help you get through the week. As the posts suggest, I know LFC are struggling this year, but do go into hibernation for the winter, still need your support each week at Union Jack for the matches during the winter time and helping to keep us growing!  Also some team and OLSC updates coming But first as always Fan Focus. Up this week is Ryan:

Name: Ryan Deal @realdealryan

How did you pick Liverpool as your team?
Though I played club and school soccer throughout my youth, I burned myself out and stayed away for several years. I first dipped a toe into the EPL waters in 2008, and the Reds stood out, especially emotional players like Stevie, Pepe, and Carra. I was drawn to these players because they reminded me of my favorite NFL players like Jim Kelly and Darryl Talley. I was hooked.

First LFC memory?
The first major memory for me was the 2010 victory against Chelsea in which Fernando Torres regained form (we thought) and punched in 2 goals. I had been hoping for him to regain a high level for so long, and coupled with club turmoil, being Hodged, and league position- it was an immense relief. Short-lived, but very important to me at the time.

Favorite LFC memory?
Tottenham 0 – 5 Liverpool, the celebration after Flanagan’s goal.
flanno goal

Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match?
I’m not superstitious, but lately it’s been nice to get a 45-minute ride in before a match to ease the nerves.

Where were you during Istanbul?
pre-fandom; unsure

Favorite Current Player and Why?
Steven Gerrard. Our talisman. You can make arguments about which role suits him best, but you can’t leave him out of the side. And we saw last year that he remains LFC’s emotional glue. #WeGoAgain

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why?The King, Kenny Dalglish. He’s been to the peaks and depths with the club. Plus, I really enjoyed him telling Arsene Wenger to f*** off a few years back after an extra-time penalty equalizer.
kenny

Favorite LFC kit ever?
The Purple Warrior!

You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do?
Book a friendly at Lucas Oil Stadium. Bronze statue of Ian Ayre.

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info?
@LFCIndy , @kopwatch

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area?
I really dig the food at Twenty Tap. And Chatham Tap. Most taps.

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play?
It would be a dream to see Ibe take a step and impress during his loan spell at Derby County.

Favorite LFC Goal?
Young Phil C’s winner vs City in the heat of the title race last year was amazing.

Have you ever seen LFC play in person?
We went to Soldier Field for the friendly against Olympiakos.

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have?
Buffalo Bills since 1988 home opener….and all of the suffering since.

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match?
My favorite central Indiana beer is Bloomington Brewing Co’s Rooftop IPA.

What makes you most proud to support LFC?
Other supporters!

Best thing about being an Indy Red?
I hope we’re part of something that endures as this beautiful game continues to gain popularity in the US. And though I’ve only attended a handful of group events, we really seem to have an incredible local following.

Thanks Ryan!

Well Indy Reds we’ve had a rough few weeks watching our Redmen play. But as always we will try and find some positives. Still in the Capital One Cup and FA Cup and even though we were bounced out of the Champions League we did drop to the Europa League. So we have that going for us. Even though the loss to united was a rough one we attacked much much better we just couldn’t get anything past De Gea. Speaking of the match from Sunday. Huge thanks to everyone that came out to Union Jack. The place was packed. It was great to see some new faces there and always good to see the trusty regulars each week. Lets keep that support going.
Tomorrow(Wednesday) ULF Podcast will have their clips up from the match since they broadcasted live from there.

Ok some Team News:
LFC will take on Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup Wednesday 2:45pm kickoff.
afcb
Here is the press conference from BR Only injury update right now is Glen Johnson will be out for the holiday season clashes with a groin Injury. Sturridge still out. Sakho, Mario and everyone else should be good to go. Any Lineup predictions for the midweek clash?

Contrary to reports Rodgers says there was not a “Bust Up” or unrest in the team.

Sunday another huge EPL match with a primo kickoff time. LFC v Arsenal. 11am kickoff.
If you’ve never been out to UJ’s for a match these are the ones to make it to your first. Perfect start time. Food will be going, plenty of time to wake up. Another big big crowd expected at Union Jack. Lets make sure that it is full of Red before the blue of the Colts try to take over.

In OLSC news: We have a good draft of our By-Laws completed. It is one of the requirements when becoming and OLSC. So if we have anyone in the legal profession get with us so we can have you look it over to make sure everything is good(everything should be LFC sent the template over)
LFC emailed earlier this week they are still finalizing the new branding so no new scarves for a couple more weeks. The minute I get the ok the Wheels will start to turn fast for pre-orders and to get them in.
In other apparel developments. Union Jack is in the final stages of having t-shirts made that will incorporate both our logo and theirs. Once I have a picture of the final design I will post it. Pre-sale of them will be open to everyone(Trust me you will want to get the shirt on pre-sale will most likely be cheaper than getting it at pub after pre-sale ends) So you can get your Indy Reds fix before the scarfs happen. It will be a great chance to support both our local home pub and your supporters club.

If you didn’t get an email from us last week please make sure to get us your email address so we can add you to our list, will be very import for passing along big info.
Reminder if you ever have any ideas for articles or posts for the site please bring them to our attention or if you have wrote something or want to write something please let us know so we can add more content.

Thanks everyone.

Back from Break. Fan Focus.

Welcome back Indy Reds! It’s been a while I apologize. Between having the international break and our Chairman Nile having a new baby the site got neglected some by not having anything posted in awhile. Well we are back with some team and Supporters club news but first a new Fan Focus with Indy Red and Southsider Kyle.

How did you pick Liverpool as your team? A good friend of mine was studying abroad throughout Europe in 2004. Upon his return he gave each of us, his friends a gift from his travels. He knew that I played soccer in high school, so when I reached out he put a bright red L.F.C. scarf in my hand. Ever since then I’ve been a Red!

Favorite LFC memory? I’ll skip the obvious and go with Dirk Kuyt’s hat trick against man u (I never capitalize theirs or chelsea’s names). I was up and running around the house yelling for that one!

Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match? No real superstitions… A couple traditions would be of course to wear Red on match day, and I always pull up Gerry and The Peacemakers ‘YNWA’ on my phone pre-match.

Where were you during Istanbul? This is how I REALLY fell in love with L.F.C. I was still learning all about the EPL and all the other competitions involved throughout a season. Side note, I went into this venture completely alone. None of my friends or family were soccer fans. So there was much to learn. I had no clue about the match, but luckily I did happen to play hooky from work that day. I was just carrying on about my day off. I was bored flipping through channels when I stopped on ESPN2 (because I had seen it was Liverpool that playing). Just in time too. Caught the greatest game ever played!

Favorite Current Player and Why? Stevie G! His work rate is second to none, and he embodies everything it means to be a great captain for a legendary team like L.F.C.

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why? I’ve always looked up to Dirk Kuyt. I think he would be rather fun to hang out with and talk LFC over a few drinks.

Favorite LFC kit ever? I’m really partial to the first kit I ever bought. The home 2010-11 Adidas kit.

You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do? I would most definitely go back to Adidas on being our kit provider! Oh oh and I would sign my 15 month old son to the academy!
lfcbab

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info? When I’m on Facebook I of course look to LFC Indy. Along with LiverpoolFC, This is Anfield, and Empire of the Kop. I also check in with the Bleacher Report app.

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area? I would for sure be at UJ’s with all the other Indy Reds singing and drinking the afternoon….and night away.

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play? We signed him this year, but he won’t be in Liverpool red until next season. I’m very excited to watch another young gun Divock Origi play as a red.

Favorite LFC Goal? There are many of them, but for the sake of being different I would say when Suarez caught the Norwich keeper out from goal and booted a 40 yarder for his 4th goal of the night.

Have you ever seen LFC play in person? I have. My little brother and I drove out to Baltimore a few years back to catch the Reds take on Spurs. I kept telling my brother to keep an eye on that very young Sterling player. He’s like a bolt of lightning!

balt

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have? I follow all the teams here in Indy. The Eleven, Pacers, Colts, Indians and soon the new hockey team, ‘Indy Fuel’. I also enjoy getting out and playing disc golf. Many great courses here in the Midwest!

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match? We’ll just say my drink(s) of choice are Miller High Life w/ a shot of Beam on the side. Don’t judge me!

What makes you most proud to support LFC? The level of passion from Liverpool supporters is unmatched. Win, Lose or Draw!

Best thing about being an Indy Red? Being able to experience it all with other like minded Hoosiers! I used to feel pretty lonely down here in Franklin being a soccer fan in general, but I must say its slowly but surely improving.

Thanks Kyle!

Team and OLSC news:
It was great to get 3 points on Saturday and what a way to grab them. I still shake my head and laugh a little when I say it: Glen Johnson with a diving header to win the match. He took a cleat/boot to the head too.

glen
Was nice to see us keep a clean sheet and Mignolet make some nice saves. We had a much better second half attacking which was great to see. Hopefully it will carry over into these next few matches.
Last time I will mention it because I’m sure most have seen it but; Jane who is the liaison between the Supporters Clubs and LFC contacted us on Friday to invite us to be on the post match show on LFC TV. I was surprised/amazed/thankful that they thought of us out of all of the supporters clubs they could have picked from in America. It was a great chance to get some more exposure for OLSC Indianapolis and was a thrill to be on the show for the short 6 minutes. Glad I could get a small laugh in there with mentioning that I have met Claire Rourke before(very briefly in Chicago during the training session) and happy thousands of ears got to hear “Indy Reds” and “Official Supporters Club from Indianapolis” . If you haven’t seen the video yet here is a link to it on our Facebook page.

Still only 5 points off of 4th place which is remarkable for how the year is going. So we are still in good striking distance to jump up there. We’ve got a favorable next two matches v Leicester on Tuesday and then Sunderland on Saturday. So hopefully 6 points there to boost the confidence more then take down Basel on the 9th to advance in the Champions League, then we have those bum mancs on the 14th.

If you have LFCTV membership here is the pre-Leicester press conference.
Some Highlights from it:
Steven Gerrard has been offered a new 1 year contract. Stevie hasn’t accepted or declined it yet. Rodgers said it is fine if he takes his time.
Some rumors going around that Rodgers and Stevie were not getting along. Stevie put those rumors to bed with this instagram post
stev

Glen Johnson still has not been offered a new contract and not looking likely that he will be offered one.
Sakho returned to training but won’t be fit for the match tomorrow could possibly be ready for the weekend.

We are still waiting to hear from LFC about the trademark and logo revisions they are doing. Once we here everything is good to go we will get on ordering scarves. Unless they approve everything within the next week most likely won’t have them until start of the year(late Christmas gift for yourself and friends/family) We are also in the process of looking at getting window/car decals made with our logo but instead of “LFC Indy” on the bottom it would say “Indy Reds” Would you folks be interested in these if we decided to get them?

Our Annual General Meeting still won’t be for a little bit, shooting for spring time April/May to do that to vote on board members(Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer) and go over the past year and get ideas for the upcoming year(events, suggestions etc). You will know in pretty far in advance of it, will need to have as many Indy Reds there as possible. Most likely will be at Union Jack unless some other venue or event comes up or sounds better.
We are continuing to grow and we see new faces each week at Union Jack for matches which is great. Winter time is always tough for people because of weather and holidays to make it out for matches but your continued support and presence will help us to keep on growing. If we power through the winter(with good results) Once spring hits & Indy Eleven kick off again I’m sure we will see another big surge in people here again soon.

Fan Focus Chairman of the Board, No not Sinatra.

Welcome back Indy Reds to another edition of our Fan Focus. This week in honor of gaining OLSC status I thought that I would get in on the fan focus action. I added a little backstory for how LFC Indy started for those that wanted to know the story. Over the past year I’ve met quite a few of you Indy Reds and some of these questions and answers have been done in person but for those that haven’t thought I would “pull back the curtain” a little. Hope you enjoy.

What are the origins of LFC Indy?
Well it was pretty random. I was on twitter and facebook and noticed all of these other cities had accounts set up for LFC fans(LFCNY, LFC Chicago etc) I already was tweeting about LFC related things on my account(which most of my followers didn’t like) So in September of 2013 I started a twitter account called LFC Indy. At first the whole point of it was to just tweet about LFC related things and try and get some other LFC fans together in the mornings at the bar to watch a match and talk Liverpool. Little by little more and more people started following and more interaction was happening so I looked into what it would take to get a Supporters Club started in the city. At first glance it looked like an unlikely task. Had to have at least 50 people in the group and 15 of those people had to have LFC memberships(About a $40 investment for an International Membership)
First we needed a home pub so after about a month of going to different Pubs I decided to land on Union Jack pub to be the home place. Chatham downtown would of been great but Chelsea, Arsenal & Spurs all have supporters clubs that meet there and I was kind of selfish I wanted a place to call our own, plus it is only 21+ and it is a little smaller. Chatham in Fishers almost became the choice because it is spacious and they do allow all ages but it just seemed like a long ways away. So Union Jack seemed like a happy medium. It is in Broad Ripple, they have great food and beer. They had young owners who took over and nobody else was going there.
Once that happened things started to snowball and escalate quickly(faster and more organized than I ever expected) We started getting a lot of followers on the twitter page and then LFC announced they were coming to the USA for a summer tour and wanted to interview some supporters and for some reason they picked me. The exposure we got for being on the website exploded. Around this same time Indy Eleven was getting ready to start so lots of soccer fans were together and Indy Reds starting meeting each other. More and more people wanted to be a part of it and were buying LFC memberships and we blew away the number required to become a Supporters Club. More and more people started showing up to matches and here we are today still growing. Still amazed that it grew that fast in one small year.

First LFC memory?
08/30/2003. I was a freshman in college at Baldwin-Wallace in Cleveland. I walked out into the commons room area in our dorm and there was a soccer game on. Red v Blue. It was the Merseyside Derby. I sat down and watched the match and watched LFC win 3-0. I was hooked.

How did you pick Liverpool as your team? It was the perfect match. Where I grew up in the Amish Country of Ohio(Holmes County!!) nobody really ever played or watched any soccer at all so I was never exposed to it at a young age to fall in love with it and play it. Growing up in Ohio I was brought up a die hard Cleveland Sports fan. Yes a horrible thing to do to a child as you may know Cleveland sports is sometimes nicknamed “The Factory of Sadness” Cleveland teams used to be all very good and won some championships back in the old days and then they also had lots of times where they were so so close to winning and being the factory of sadness they would come up short(The Shot, The Fumble, Red Right 88, Jose Mesa, The Decision, the list goes on) Cleveland fans though are a very proud bunch and they support their teams through the best times and the worst times and those teams are steeped in history and tradition. Long story short after I saw that first LFC match I dug into the club and wanted to know the roots/history of it. Only thing I knew about Liverpool was The Beatles were from there and I loved them. They were also Red. Which it sounds small and petty but that was a major factor. Red is my favorite color. I am an Ohio State fan so Red over Blue is something ingrained in you too. I started to see some similarities between my beloved Cleveland teams and LFC. Both had very rich histories and were at a time in the past kings of their sports, then of recent they both had chances to win but came up short but the fans always stuck by them. The more I learned about the club and the more I watched them the more I grew to love them.

Favorite LFC memory?
Lots of great memories especially here of recent. Hard to not say Istanbul though here. That will be a game that goes down in History as THE single best comeback in sports history and one of the most exciting matches of all time. So that is obviously up there. Also up there was seeing Liverpool in Chicago. I was lucky enough that I got to go see training the day before the match, so it was a great experience to see the team up close with a very small crowd and hear & see the players and coaches interact with each other and also with the fans. Will never forget we were singing a Steven Gerrard song and the one and only Stevie just looked up right as and smiled and gave the thumbs up. Getting the email that said the LFC wanted to offer LFC Indy official supporters club status will always be a fond one too.

Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match?
Have to listen to You’ll Never Walk Alone. I kiss the Liverbird on my scarf before kickoff.

Where were you during Istanbul?
I was at our home pub Union Jack. Rough rough 1st half and I was drowning myself in a few pints thinking, yep I’m destined to never see one of the teams I support win anything. Then Holy Moly, that 2nd half. I can still watch that 2nd half and get excited and cheer watching it. Had plenty of beers to celebrate and luckily I lived in the neighborhood area so I was able to make a stop at the Red Key as well to celebrate.

Favorite Current Player and Why?
Stevie G will always be my favorite player because he was one of the 1st players I watched and he has been the ultimate Liverpool player and he is freaking Stevie G you can’t put into words what he means to the club and fans. Other than Stevie, Raheem Sterling & Daniel Sturridge are two players I love to watch.

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why?
Bob Paisley. He seems like someone who would of been excellent to just belly up to the bar and have some beers and chat with. I’m sure he has phenomenal stories of those great teams he was associated with.

Favorite LFC kit ever?
2008-2012 Adidas Home kit was one of the best ever. Simple, clean Looked sharp. 87-89/08-09 Gray away kits were great. Then I do have a soft spot for the 95-96 Green&White Quarters away kit. I for some reason love the quarters design. Would love to see that brought back.
2009 kitquarter

You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do?
First order of business is give myself a job with the club so when the day ends I still work for LFC.
Second order of business is make sure LFC tour the USA in 2016 & have a stop in Indy.
Third open up a USA based academy in Indy. To home grow some players from the USA to join LFC in the future. Bring over some former players Rush, Barnes, Fowler to be coaches/advisors.

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info?
Twitter mostly. Liverpool website, This is Anfield.

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area?
Celebrating with quite a few pints and a pizza at Union Jack. Then once I get home Chips, Salsa, Queso, Quesadilla A La Diabla from Fiesta Ranchera. More pints. Then next day more celebration with meal downtown.

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play?
Before season started it was Ibe, but then we sent him on loan. He was a fun one to watch in training in Chicago. Emre Can was a player I want to see play some more. He is just a big bull who is fun to watch.

Favorite LFC Goal?
So many great goals. Long strikes by Stevie, that chip from Suarez v Norwich. One goal that I really liked that I always think of is Daniel Sturridge v Stoke in December of 2014. Ball got played into Studge in the box he hits it GK saves it ricochets off the post, Studge is now past the end line sees the ball, slips but gets up and bounces the ball off his head like a circus seal and then drops it to his foot and puts in the goal. It was just that determination that “I’m going to score this goal and not let up” that I loved.
Video below at the 2:00 minute mark.

Have you ever seen LFC play in person?
I have. When they came to Chicago I saw them train and then also watched the game the next day. Great experience. Got to meet Brendan Rodgers and he signed my scarf. Met lots of supporters and some of the other chairmen of other supporters clubs from throughout the USA. Got to sing YNWA which was great.
PROGRAM
I never expected for them to put this in the Program for the USA tour. If you were at Chicago you saw me geek out when I saw it.

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have?
I follow all Cleveland sports(Indians, Cavs, Browns) Ohio State Buckeyes, Indy Eleven, I also follow the Pittsburgh Pirates close too, My wife and her family are from the Pittsburgh area and then the AAA team is here in Indy and I’m an Usher at Victory Field on the side so I have grown to love watching their prospects and players.
I enjoy a good beer. I still like to get out there and play some rec league softball & I played in the Indy City Futbol this past summer. When I went to veg out I have an Xbox One so you will see me playing FIFA & some RPG’s.
Other than that I am married and we have a 2 1/2yr old daughter Chaylee and as of writing this in a few days my wife will give birth to our second child a Baby Boy named River. I love spending time with our little family so that takes up majority of my time.

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match?
Mashcraft on the Southside had a Scots Ale earlier this year that was one of the best beers I’ve had. I usually lean towards a porter or red style beer but the great thing about Union Jack is they always have a great rotating tap list so it gives you the chance to try lots of different beers.

What makes you most proud to support LFC?
The phrase “You’ll Never Walk Alone” It truly is the calling card of the club. It is that sense of community and family when you support LFC.

Best thing about being an Indy Red?
Proud that we are an OLSC and that we got it so fast. Great being able to watch matches and interact with so many different people in the city.
Thanks everyone again for helping us get to official status.

Reminder Saturday 7:45am kickoff. Get to Union Jack for the match to celebrate us becoming an OLSC. I will be bringing in donuts for the early morning match. UJ’s will obviously have the beer and coffee flowing. Should be a good crowd there since we are playing the team that is easy to hate(and for good reason) CFC.  All ages welcome. Get out there and meet some of your fellow Indy Reds and kick your weekend off right with some Indy Reds and 3 points.

Fan Focus. Pumpkins for days.

Welcome back to another edition of Indy Reds Fan Focus. Up this week is Jordan. He is one of our Indy Reds who is what seems like every single match he is at Union Jack. You’ve probably seen him there or with the Slaughterhouse 19 folks during Indy Eleven matches also. In honor of Halloween this week he seemed like a good choice to be featured. Take it away…

How did you pick Liverpool as your team?
I didn’t grow up with the sport, so I had to come into it on my own. It was when I was 16 during the 2006 World Cup that I really started watching it, and I was hooked. The USMNT was an obvious choice, but I knew I had to find a club in the EPL. During my research on the different clubs’ history and players, I came across Robbie Fowler, who had just returned to Liverpool after five years. His nickname of “God” was the first thing that stood out to me about him, so I started watching clips and reading about him. What really made me fall in love though is the “eating grass” incident during the Merseyside derby in 1999.
fowlerShort story for those of you that don’t know; Everton supporters had started a rumor about Fowler saying he was doing cocaine, so after he scored his second goal of the match, he ran over to the touch line and dropped down to “snort” the white line. That’s when I knew I was going to be a Liverpool supporter for life.

First LFC memory?
One of the first memories I have is from when I first decided to really follow Liverpool and watch as many matches as I could. I had stayed the night over at a friend’s parent’s house back in high school, and brought my laptop with me so I could wake up for the 7:30 AM match and stream it. I don’t remember exactly who we were playing, but it had been a close match and when we finally scored the winning goal in second half stoppage time, I couldn’t hold in my excitement. Woke up the whole house, and they thought I was crazy!

Favorite LFC memory?
February 6, 2011 in London. It was El Niño’s debut for Chelsea. I was at my Army training that Sunday for a yearly physical which was happening during the match, but I of course had my smartphone out the entire time watching it. It was scoreless for most of the match until Meireles slotted in a Stevie G cross in the 69th minute. I was in line to have my blood pressure taken when it happened, and when it got to me, the machines couldn’t register any sort of a pulse I was so excited. Even an hour after the match the machine couldn’t register a pulse. Yeah, I may have been a bit bitter that he left us.

Do you have any superstitions or traditions you do/have for each match?
The only one I really stick to for every single match is listening to You’ll Never Walk Alone. It has to be played.

Where were you during Istanbul?
Unfortunately, I hadn’t gotten into the sport at that time, so the only thing I really knew about Istanbul was that it wasn’t Constantinople. Although, I have watched the replay of that night several times, and you know I will be seeing One Night in Istanbul when it makes its way over here.

bar

Favorite Current Player and Why?
This is a tough question; our squad is extremely likable right now. It has to be Captain Fantastic, Steven Gerrard though. The things he can do with a football are just absolutely incredible, and he has given his all for this club. This man deserves the league title more than anyone else, and I’m confident we can give it to him before he’s done.

If you could meet or have dinner with any LFC player/manager ever who it would it be & why? Robbie Fowler. He seems like he would be a great guy to hang out with and just talk about whatever. I’d love to ask him how Houllier came up with the “Cameroonian grass eating celebration” defense for his “Snorting the end line” celebration I mentioned earlier.

Favorite LFC kit ever?
The 83-85 kit is one of my favorites, which is the one Warrior based their last kit on. It did make for an interesting ensemble when they played away to Watford wearing the red home top, yellow away socks, and black shorts from the away kit from the previous year.
kit

You are Owner of Liverpool for 1 day what do you do?
Put all of our money into getting Flanno back into the squad, I’ve been missing him. Seriously though, I would just enjoy being able to walk about wherever I wanted and interact with all the players. If there was something I would think about changing, chances are BR has already thought about it and knows what’s best.

Where do you go to get your LFC news/info?
I know Twitter seems to be the preferred method here, but I usually get all of my info on Facebook. Empire of the Kop, LFC News, Liverpool FC official page, Liverpool Echo, NBC Sports Soccer, The Sport Bible posts some pretty good videos, and of course LFC Indy!

LFC have just won the league, where are you going for a celebration dinner in Indy Area?Dinner? Probably whatever I drunkenly decide after celebrating all morning at UJs! If I even remember to eat, that is.

Newest Signing or Young Player you are looking forward to seeing this year play?
I’m still excited to see what Super Mario can bring to the table once Sturridge is fit and able to help him out. I’m really hoping they link up better than he is with Sterling. As far as our young players, Coutinho is someone I’ve always had my eye on, and I really think he will grow as a player this season. He needs to step up and make things happen.

Favorite LFC Goal?
Way too many, but one of my favorites that I have seen is a goal by John Aldridge against Arsenal in 88. The actual goal wasn’t anything too complicated, but the buildup and work that went into it was fantastic.

Have you ever seen LFC play in person?
Chicago this summer was the first time I had seen them. It was fantastic, even if it was Americanized a bit. The only real disappointing part was when the announcer came on in the middle of You’ll Never Walk Alone at the beginning and the crowd singing wasn’t loud enough to drown him out. I have already decided I will be going to Berlin if we make it to the CL finals.

What other sports do you follow or hobbies do you have?
Supporting five different football clubs takes up a lot of time, but I do enjoy supporting the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL and our Indiana Pacers in the NBA. I also try to play every week with some of the Indy Eleven supporters. Non-sports related, I have taken up filmmaking with a focus on Horror and I also brew my own beer! (Eavan, you might get your wish for a Red IPA)

Best Local Indy Area Beer to have during an LFC match?
That’s the hardest question you’ve asked yet! Indianapolis has an amazing amount of delicious local beers to drink, and the Union Jack always has something good on tap! A few of my favorite local breweries though are Flat 12, Triton, and Black Acre. I’m always down to talk about some good beer, too!

What makes you most proud to support LFC?
For this team right now, the player mentality. We have an amazing group of guys out there that really want to win, and not just for themselves. I think we are really going to see that mentality put to good use this season.

Best thing about being an Indy Red?
Having an awesome group of people to watch the matches with! Before I met Nile, a lot of times I would be the only one at the Union Jack in Broadripple there to watch the matches, and I would sit at the bar by myself{Editors Note: This is true, there was some matches pre LFC Indy where it was just two maybe 3 of us sitting at the bar at 7:30/8am watching at UJ’s}. Slowly more people started coming to watch with us, and it is extremely satisfying to see how the group has grown in a year! A huge shout out has to go to Jay and Chelsey for all of the hard work they have done with the Union Jack and everything they have done for both LFC Indy and the Indy Eleven supporters group, Slaughterhouse-19, not to mention the amazing display they put on during the World Cup!

Thanks Jordan!

LFC News:
Well we didn’t get the result we thought we were going to get or what we wanted v Hull on Saturday 0-0 draw. Couldn’t convert any chances. On the plus side we are still sitting fine in the league table 2 points out of 4th 3 points out of 3rd so it could be worse. It was a beautiful day outside on Saturday and we had a really nice crowd show up at Union Jack. A lot of new faces(and some familiar ones too) so that is always good to see that the support and awareness is still growing and this thing we are doing here is working.
swansTuesday we have a Capital One Cup match v Swansea. The Aqua Bird Battle. The Rodgers/Allen v old club storyline. Match is at 4pm. It is on BeIn Sport. Will be interesting to see what squad we throw out there for it since we have 3 tough matches in 7 days after this before surprise surprise another  International break(Newcastle on Saturday, Real Madrid Tuesday then Chelsea Saturday)

As I’ve mentioned before as we move into November our Chairmen Nile won’t be able to do quite as much hands on with the Supporters Club with his Baby Boy coming mid month, so if any of our Indy Reds can or want to help out with the Twitter or Facebook posting(especially on matchday) or the blog let me know it would be a big help.

With Halloween this week it is acceptable to go Full Kit Wanker and dress up/cosplay as an LFC player.
